This is the perfect appetizer in the form of a healthy soup for your child. It is super easy to prepare. It consists of yam, which includes thiamine, riboflavin, folic acid, and niacin as its primary nutrients.

Ingredients to make Healthy Soup:

½ cup yam (suran) skin peeled, ½ cup potatoes, salt to taste, ½ cup sweet potato, ½ tsp. ground black pepper powder, ½ tsp. roasted powdered cumin seeds, ½ tsp. roasted sesame seeds, ½ tsp. roasted powdered peanuts, 1 tsp. butter, 1 tbsp. water chestnut (singhara) flour, ½ tbsp. lemon juice, 2 tbsp water

Steps to make Healthy Soup:

1. Pressure cook yam, potatoes, sweet potatoes for 3 whistles or until the veggies are soft and tender.

2. Skin out the potatoes, sweet potatoes and add all 3 veggies to blender jar and blend to a smooth paste.

3. Make a smooth paste by mixing water chestnut (singhara) flour in water and keep aside.

4. Heat ghee in a medium size pan and add the veggies mixture and sauté for 3 minutes and add water to the soup consistency and bring to boil stirring constantly.

5. Add salt, pepper powder, cumin powder and stir well. Add the water chestnut (singhara) flour mixture and give a good whisk to avoid lumps, simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

6. Remove from heat and add lemon juice, sesame seeds, peanuts, and mix well.

Healthy Soup is ready to be served to your child as a complete breakfast or appetiser or for evening teatime.
